    Homework

At Glasshoughton Infant  Academy, learning extends beyond the classroom. Homework is a key part of every pupil’s education, providing the opportunity to consolidate knowledge, practise skills and develop their independence. It helps pupils take ownership of their learning and prepares them for the demands of further study and future career aspirations.

    Homework is designed to:
    • Reinforce and extend learning from lessons
    • Develop organisation, self-discipline and time management
    • Encourage independent thinking and problem-solving
    • Support pupils in achieving their full potential across the curriculum
    • Prepare pupils for further study

Teachers set homework which helps pupils build their fluency skills to give them the foundations to access more complex learning in the curriculum. This includes expecting times table and spelling practice and daily reading.

We encourage every pupil to take pride in their homework and strive for excellence in all that they do!
