At Glasshoughton Infant Academy, we believe that every child is unique and worthy of praise and positive recognition.  Our children are rewarded in many different ways.  Some of this praise is threaded through our positive interactions which build relationships of trust and respect.  Some of our recognition falls within our whole school events at key points throughout the year.  For example, at the end of each half-term, we hold our Celebration assembly, which is focused on celebrating our children’s unique and remarkable qualities. 

We believe that all children should experience success in the every day and so our curriculum and planning builds in varied opportunities for this experience and as adults we believe that our role is to capture and celebrate this success.

Children are rewarded and praised for a multitude of achievements and qualities.  Some of these recognise excellent work ethic and attitude to learning, some are more focused on qualities like kindness, resilience and care.  We also recognise those pupils who come to school every day and who achieve excellent attendance.  Those pupils achieving 100% are rewarded every half-term and at the end of the year. 

At Glasshoughton Infant Academy we know that each child is unique and so their experience of success may be diverse and different.  We will always encourage each child to be an individual who is part of a very special community and our rewards and recognition reflect this.
