Our Nursery provides a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment where all children are supported to develop their capabilities to be successful learners. We provide the right foundations for future progress and enable children to take their very first steps in learning.
The Academy has a 39-place Nursery, offering places across morning and afternoon sessions and a number of 30-hour places. For full details of session times, please see The Academy Day page.
Applications for Nursery places are made directly to the Academy, on a termly basis. Parents and carers should complete the Nursery Admission Form, which is available on request. Children attend Nursery on a part-time basis and may start from the day after their third birthday. Families will be informed of the outcome of their application directly by the academy.
Please note that a place in Nursery does not guarantee a place in Reception, nor does it give additional priority for admission. Further information about Reception admissions can be found on our Admissions page.
Our nursery is the beginning of a child’s journey through school and our curriculum which is progressive in skill and knowledge, has been carefully designed to enable all children to learn, develop and grow through play. The indoor and outdoor learning environment is exciting, engaging and challenging, and allows children to explore, investigate, safely take risks and solve problems throughout the seven areas of learning. All adults strive to engage children in the highest quality teaching in order to maximise success for all, and prepare children for the next phase of their education, as they transition into Reception.
Learning is carefully planned around the seven areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage, supporting children to develop:
Timetabling changes throughout the year to consider the ever-changing needs of the children ensuring children are provided with plenty of time to engage in exploration as well as a balance of adult-led activities.
Every child is valued as an individual, and our approach ensures that children feel safe, happy, and ready to explore the world around them.
